Toby Baring's Career


Toby Baring studied at Newcastle University and qualified in 2000, and passed the FRCS in 2012. He wrote a postgraduate doctorate at Imperial College London with Professor Roger Emery in 2006, focusing on rotator cuff surgery. He undertook specialist orthopaedic training on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation in North London and spent his Fellowship year in Nice, France, working under Professor Pascal Boileau (a world-renowned shoulder specialist).


He was appointed as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant and runs a busy NHS practice in Central London.

Research and Publications


Toby Baring is regularly invited to speak at national and international congresses and has performed live streamed operations. He trains surgeons from around the globe in innovative shoulder procedures, and have published papers on shoulder instability, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder joint replacement and elbow fractures.
